Today in things that are unreal:
In 1993, Shannen Doherty decided to dive into music. She intended for her band to sound like “a cross between U2 and Pearl Jam.” (Really?) AND JOHN CORBETT WAS IN SAID BAND. That’s right - Sex and the City heartthrob Aidan Shaw and Applebee’s spokesman, John Corbett.
If you pay attention to anything in this clip, watch out for what Sassy Gay Friend has to say about Shannen’s bang trim habits at the 2:08 mark, as well as Kurt Loder’s closing zinger right before it ends. SICK BURN, LODER!
I love more than anything that a bunch of uber-badass underground ‘zine chicks started an I HATE BRENDA Newsletter, then proceeded to purposefully blow up Doherty’s spot as she was trying to kick it to Eddie Vedder. I love the guy who later in this clip calls the assault on Doherty and Brenda Walsh “pop culture terrorism.”
